RE: Headin’ Home Needs Your Help!

On behalf of our Board, Volunteers, Veterans, and horses in need, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Headin’ Home, a horse rescue and rehabilitation nonprofit organization with offices located in West Jordan, Utah and the ranch located at 2375 s. 8000 w. in Magna, Utah.  We are dedicated to healing the mind, body and spirit of both horses and humans through rescuing and rehabilitating wild mustangs and those saved from slaughterhouses and providing equine therapy to veterans with physical and mental disabilities.

We are reaching out to you to make a vast impact on our community. We ask you to consider supporting Headin’ Home in fulfilling our mission to the community of healing the mind, body and spirit of humans and horses. Headin’ Home is reliant on support from donors like you to aid horses and veterans in our community.

Our Story: Saving Horses and Building Community

Headin’ Home is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Tax ID 47-5311062 horse rescue of both wild and domesticated horses and equine therapy center for veterans in need. Our mission is to heal the mind, body and spirit of both horse and human. We provide impactful rescue and rehabilitation for wild mustangs from the Bureau of Land Management and life-saving rescue for horses, of which, would otherwise be sent to slaughterhouses. In tandem, we use the healing power of horses in our equine therapy program for veterans and others of need suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other traumatic injuries that have damaged their physical and/or mental capabilities. These programs allow horses and humans to heal together.

. We are dedicated to providing endless compassion, rescue and rehabilitation to wild horses and suffering veterans and allowing them to rehabilitate together, in mind body and spirit.

Our Mission: Humans Helping Horses, Helping Humans.

What do wild horses and war veterans have in common? They are both symbols of strength and freedom rounded up and recruited to serve the people of this country with honor and loyalty. They are asked to carry unbearable burdens that change their lives forever. After their service, they are often left with traumatic injuries that deeply damage their minds, bodies and spirits causing anxiety and depression. Many even lose their will to live. Headin’ Home knows that rescued horses both domestic and wild and wounded warriors can heal each other. The Headin’ Home Healing Journey is a program based on experiential horse activities that are designed to nurture emotional growth and healing from trauma and is offered to Veterans and First Responders with PTSD, TBI and MST, anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts at no cost. A staff that includes a therapist, a horse professional and life skills staff guides the activities. Because of the experiential aspect, changes in behavior and increased insight for the participants often arise quickly and have a lasting transferable effect. Participants learn about themselves and others by participating in gentling rescued wild horses, and then processing feelings, behaviors, and patterns. Wild Horse Gentling is a powerful and effective therapeutic approach that has proven to have an incredible impact on individuals and groups. It addresses a variety of mental health and human development needs including behavioral issues, attention deficit disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems and communication needs.

We Make an Impact, So Can You.

Headin’ Home needs supporters to help us grow our capacity. We are currently seeking donations to buy property and build our Welcome and Therapy center, Horse Sanctuary, bunk houses, Camp ground and horse receiving area where we can grow and expand our organization dramatically. We will be working in phases and anticipate that this property would allow us to rescue, at least 100+ horses annually and serve 25 to 30 veterans per month through our equine therapy program.

We have levels of giving that would allow us to increase our impact and reach our goal.
